• Step 1 - Layout your QOLF course
Set out your course using the QOLF frames included in your game set. Additional frames can be purchase by calling 888-426-6348 or visiting the QOLF shop. The QOLF frame has the par and bonus value marked on it, which must be taken into account when the players design the layout of the course. Natural hazards and obstacles can be incorporated into the course lay-out to make it more challenging and interesting.

Orange Frame – Par 3 Bonus 1
Blue Frame – Par 4 Bonus 2
Red Frame – Par 5 Bonus 3

Frame Distance Recommendations
Par 3 = minimum of 12 paces
Par 4 = minimum of 15 paces
Par 5 = minimum of 20 paces

These are the minimum layout recommendations and players who become more skilled and advanced at QOLF can regulate the distance and obstacles accordingly, to create a more challenging course.

• Step 2 - Start the game
Flip a coin to determine who goes first. The winner of the coin flip chooses the tee-off point. Each player chooses a different colored QOLFball and hits it toward the frame.

Once the players have played their first shot, the player farthest from the frame plays first, and the player closest to the frame plays last. If one ball obstructs play, that player shall mark his/her ball with a coin or any other object so the other players can play through.

The object is to pitch the ball through the QOLF frame (hole or arch) with the least amount of strokes. Once the ball is pitched through the QOLF arch or hole, the player then marks the scorecard.

On any given shot, players may place their ball within 6 inches of its original position, provided that the ball is not placed at a more favorable distance or angle to the QOLF frame.

• Step 3 – Scoring
Keep track of how many times you hit your ball on each frame and record it on the score pad. The player with the lowest score after all frames have been played is the winner.

– Bonus Points

If a player hits his/her ball through the QOLF hole, then he/she gets the bonus points indicated on the frame – thus earning a “QOLF” as shown below.

The frames have different bonus points based on the color of the frame and the size of the QOLF Hole.

Orange Frame – Par 3, Bonus 1 (135 mm hole)
Blue Frame – Par 4, Bonus 2 (125 mm hole)
Red Frame – Par 5, Bonus 3 (115 mm hole)

Once all players have completed a frame, the next tee-off is located about 1 yard (1 meter) or more behind the previous frame. The player that won the previous hole tees off first on the next hole.

A complete round of QOLF consists of 9 frames. You can use the same tee-off points three times to complete 9 frames, but it adds to the fun and challenge of the game to change the tee-off points as shown below.

Other Cool QOLF Games To Play

QOLF Zone – 1 Frame Game

The QOLF Zone game is a variation of the QOLF game that uses a yellow rope included in certain versions of the QOLF game set.

Note: If your set did not include a yellow rope, you can purchase one from our online store at: www.QOLF.com or by calling 1-888-426-6346.

All QOLF Zone games are played by 1 or more players with a maximum of 4 players or teams. Each player will choose 2 of the same colored balls – yellow, blue, orange or red balls – included with the game.

Before play, players designate: 1) out-of-bounds areas (e.g. flower beds, driveways, etc.), 2) water hazards (e.g. swimming pools, etc.). Any ball coming to rest in or on any of the out-of-bounds areas or water hazards is automatically out of play for the entire frame.

Determine who tees-off first by a coin flip. The team/player that wins the toss can design the shape of the QOLF Zone and position the QOLF frame a minimum distance of one club length from the perimeter.

The team/player that wins the coin flip drops his/her ball no less than 10 yards (9 meters) from the perimeter of the zone, thus selecting the first tee-off point.

The team/player that wins each frame has the opportunity to place the next QOLF frame and select the tee-off point for that frame.

IN ANY GAME, SHOULD THE BALL GO THROUGH THE FRAME HOLE OR THE FRAME ARCH ON THE FIRST SHOT, THEN 5 or 3 points, respectively, are automatically scored. The team/player that accumulates the most points wins the frame/game.

• Match Zone
The object is for each player to pitch as many balls into the QOLF zone as possible. For each ball in the QOLF zone, the player receives 1 point.

Each player plays consecutive shots from his/her tee-off position.

The number of QOLF frames played is up to the players. We recommend a minimum of 9 frames.

• Target Zone
The game has the same format as Match Zone, except the scoring is calculated differently.

The player with the most balls closest to the QOLF frame scores a point per ball. As shown in Figure 2, the player with the red ball scores 2 points.

• Risk Zone
The players pitch their balls to the QOLF zone as before as in Match Zone and Target Zone games.

Each ball landing in the zone scores 2 points. They can take the 2 points or pitch the ball through either the frame arch for 3 points or the frame hole for 5 points.

By doing this, the player forfeits the 2 points, taking the chance to gain 3 or 5 points by successfully pitching the ball through the frame arch or frame hole.
